EARS is home to various types of primates such as macaques, vervets, marmosets, bush babies and capuchins.
EARS would like to welcome Sabrina & Barnie to the EARS family- 2015.
BABU & RODNEY
Bush babies, Babu and Rodney, were abandoned at the front gate. An anonymous caller phoned and said they were at the gate in a carrier. They are primates.
SARAH & ROSCOE
Roscoe and Sarah, two black-capped Capuchin monkeys continue to be among the most entertaining of the animals placed at EARS. Their friendliness and affection is demonstrated to the staff of the sanctuary daily.
Capuchin monkeys are smarter than the dickens, so much so that they are especially used to assist disabled humans! There is a Monkey College in Boston, Mass that especially trains Capuchins. It is amazing and heart-warming! See vid below! The vid covers part of the initial application a disabled person goes through to apply for a helper Capuchin then the vid goes into more of what the program hopes to accomplish.
